I've seen this movi...Really interesting David!<br /><br />I've seen this movie so many times, dating back to when I was a little girl. I think all of us who grew up in that era looked at Marilyn as the real life Barbie that we all wanted to be.<br /><br />So funny when you break the plot down (as it is in so many films) it sounds like it's going to be utterly ridiculous...<br /><br />"But after they accidentally witness a mob hit..."<br /><br />LOL! Not just ANY "mob hit" either...only the biggest "mob hit" of the 1920s!!! <br /><br />It really does put the burden on the performers to make it work onscreen. This was one of those perfect combinations. Jack Lemmon playing the "Ethel" to Tony Curtis's "Lucy" and Marilyn trying to be a serious actress...when the film industry tried so hard to turn her into a joke. <br /><br />Great movie...great review!
